  • Short answer? The difference is number of lash extensions applied to a natural eyelash!

Longer answer? Classic lash extensions follow a 1:1 ratio. Which means each individual natural eyelash will have 1 eyelash extension placed onto it to give you the most lengthened natural look. Classic lash extensions are the perfect look for ladies who want a custom, natural longer looking eyelashes.

Volume lash extensions can also be described as 4D-8D fan lashes. Which means each natural eyelash will have 4-8 thin, (REALLY thin, picture 0.06 mm) lash extensions placed in the form of a fan or bouquet (Think "V" shaped). Volume fans are the perfect addition for ladies with sparse lashes, or those looking to add 4-8x more lashes for the illusion of a thicker + fluffier lash line!

  • I always recommend coming back every 2-3 weeks.

In an average lash shedding cycle, your eyes shed 3-5 natural lashes every day! This means in 2-3 weeks your eyes have shed almost 60 lashes! If you exceed 3 weeks before returning for your fill, I will most likely need to remove & replace most of your current extensions.

It is important to remove & replace extensions that have grown out because they are likely to weigh down your natural lashes. This process should be avoided because too much growth can bend & twist your natural lashes, which can damage them if left for too long.

  • Your lash extensions have been designed to eliminate the need for mascara. Mascara can be sticky & WILL damage your lash extensions.

Having dirty lash extensions cause bad retention, a build up of product, dead skin cells and debris… which leads to blepharitis and the possibility of lash mites! It’s more common than you think!

  • Absolutely not, as long as you are following the correct aftercare and the service is being performed by an educated and certified technician, in which all employees at Studio 13 are.

Studio 13 will always prioritise lash health. The lengths and diameters of lash extensions are determined by the health and thickness of your natural lashes. For example, if your lashes are super thin and fragile, we will not jeopardise the health of your lashes by using a long and heavy lash extension.

  • We do not recommend using eyelash curlers on your lash extensions or lash lift. Mechanical curlers use pressure to squeeze the hair into a curled shape and can cause damage to your lash extensions or lift by bending & thus breaking your natural lashes.

  • A full set of lash extensions can take anywhere between 1.5-2.5 hours. Each eye has at least 100 eyelashes: The lash technician is separating a singular natural lash, picking up an extension with the other hand, dipping it into glue, and carefully applying this lash to that single natural lash, 200+ times. Lash extensions are a luxury service and it takes a steady hand and a lot of patience to perform the service.

More information about timing, pricing and details about the service are included in Studio 13’s booking site, where you can click “book now” to view.
